Original Practice Shakespeare:
Cue Script Technique with Simon Purse
Historical evidence shows that Shakespeare’s actors were given only their own parts: cue scripts that consist of their character’s lines, and words that cue each line. This workshop recreates these conditions and explores the original practice techniques championed by Patrick Tucker. We will look at the the technique in depth, how to look for acting clues hidden in the text and fully engage with the words. The group will get a variety of scenes and speeches on their feet and learn one-to-one coaching techniques that helps actors prepare for performance without rehearsal.

The Possibilities of the Body: Exploring LeCoq with Cecily Nash
Learn about the techniques and training of theatre legend Jaques LeCoq with Cecily Nash who trained at the world-renowned École internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. The workshop will explore some of the fundamentals of LeCoq’s life and work including the seven levels of tension, what it means to physicalise every day materials and delving into emotions. Together the group will explore the possibilities of the body, the potential of movement as a vehicle for storytelling and expression, and move you towards being a wholly present and physically engaged performer and practitioner.
