Live in the heart of London as you develop your craft in a nurturing, supportive environment. The Summer Gap in England offers a wide range of workshops, one-to-one mentoring and performance opportunities all led by industry professionals from around the world.
Teaching and Mentoring
The Summer Gap Year Program in England is led by a faculty of industry professionals and reflects a professional training experience or college-level program.
Acting
The Acting Program centers around two English theatre-making traditions: Original Practice Shakespeare and Movement-Based Theatre. Acting students have classes and rehearsals each day working towards a performance of a full-length Shakespeare play and an original devised movement piece for an invited audience. READ MORE.

The Film Program guides filmmakers in making a professional quality shorts from concept to premiere. Film students can learn a variety of filmmaker roles including screenwriting, directing, producing and editing and films are premiered for an invited audience. READ MORE.

SUMMER GAP IN ENGLAND

Admissions
Open to any students between the ages of 18 - 22. Requires an online application and supporting materials.
Tuition
$7495 USD per session. There is a 10% discount of you enroll in both sessions.
Majors
Theatre (Acting) and Film (Screenwriting, Directing, Cinematography, Editing or any combination)
Scholarships
We offer Financial Need Scholarships for up to 50% of the program tuition.

Living in England
Experience life in London, one of the world’s most artistically vibrant cities. You’ll live in a University of London residence hall as you attend classes and workshops each day with industry professionals who represent decades of experience in film, television and stage. Home to a multitude of museums and galleries, concert halls, theatres, historic buildings and a beautiful urban parks, London has so much to see and there will be plenty of opportunity to explore the city and soak it all in. From guided tours to West End shows, we'll help you make the most of your time in London. This program can be done on it's own or connected to our Summer Gap in France for an unforgettable 12-week study abroad program in two stunning European destinations.
Trips and Excursions
London offers endless historic, cultural and artistic sites to explore and you'll see some of the most famous as well as some hidden gems. The program includes guided tours of the Tower of London, British Museum, Tate Modern Gallery and Globe Theatre. There are full day excursions to prehistoric Stonehenge and The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Brothers Studios which showcases the stunning sets, costumes and special effects used to make the films. You’ll also enjoy an “insiders” view of London with visits to the costume collection at the V&A Museum, lunch out at Covent Garden, shopping at Old Spitalfields Market and a nighttime cruise down the Thames.
