BERRIDGE CONNECT is a 10-day online summer acting intensive taught by working, professional actors. 

The program offers three different acting classes: Acting Technique, On Camera Acting and Acting Shakespeare each offering their own technique that can be applied to any performance or audition setting. The program is aimed at:

  • actors interested in learning new approaches to acting

  • actors wanting to gain more confidence and skill in their acting

  • actors who might be thinking about applying to college theatre programs and need to develop an audition repertoire

Open to students between the ages of  14 - 22. All levels of experience required.  No audition required. 


The program is 3 hours per day for 10 days with no classes on Sunday July 11th.

Week 1: Mon - Sat 1pm-4pm EST

Week 2: Mon - Wed 1pm-4pm EST



Learn The Actor Empowerment Technique as pioneered by professional actor Duane Daniels and outlined in his book You’re Not Really Hamlet – And Everybody Knows It.  Learn practical approaches to making informed, confident choices in your acting and how to apply them fearlessly in any performance or audition setting. You’ll work with a variety of contemporary scenes and monologues, performing them for the group and receiving real-time feedback on your performances.

Duane has had a professional career in stage, film and television for the past 30 years. He was a series regular on Veronica Mars in the role of Principle Van Clemmons from 2004-2007. He also appeared in Big Shots, Invisible Man, Tremors, Fashion House, Terriers, Kate Brasher and The Chronicle.  Duane is the founder of The Fritz Theatre in San Diego, serving as Artistic Director for 18 years. He has won the Drama-Logue Award, ACT Award, Patte Award and the Blitz Award. He has played the title role in Sweeney Todd three times, and has logged over 2000 performances in the hit comedy stage play Triple Espresso in venues from San Diego to Dublin, Ireland.



Learn the skills required to act truthfully on camera with professional Los Angeles actor Greg Ainsworth. Actors will be filmed performing a variety of scripts from film and tv and watch back their footage to understand what the camera picks up, how the audience sees your performance and how doing less is the key to creating truthful performances on film. A series of exercises explore how to use the imagination as a tool to build and inhabit the world of your character more fully.

​​Greg works as an actor, writer and producer in Los Angeles. Recent TV guest appearances include Shameless and Criminal Minds. He co-produced and appeared in the psychological thriller You Were Never Here with Mireille Enos (The Killing, World War Z). As a writer, his first TV pilot is in Development with Norman Lear's Act III. Greg studied acting with Diana Castle and attended a 2-year conservatory program at the William Esper Studio in NY, one of the foremost Meisner training programs in the country. He is a former Talent Relations Executive with HBO where shows included Sex & The City, The Wire and Carnivale.



Learn a whole new way to work with Shakespeare that is stress-free and rehearsal-free! Working from the premise that Shakespeare’s actors never read the whole play or rehearsed, this class trains you to use only the text to inform your acting. Referred to as “original practice”, this technique helps you unlock the language in ways that are less intimidating and as you engage with the text and create bold, truthful performances without any rehearsal.

Simon is an actor, director and teacher based in London. He has a degree from University of Durham and attended Academy of Live and Recorded Arts where he won a scholarship to train as an actor. Simon was a member of the Original Shakespeare Company for seven years and was an OSC workshop leader taking the company on tour to Jordan and managing the Boys’ Company performance  Since 2001 he has been training actors in OSC cue script techniques around the world, including Stanford University, Singapore Repertory Theatre, Oxford University, Loyola Marymount University, Drama Studio London and LAMDA.
